ABOUT ME

I am a senior majoring in Health Services Management with a strong passion in pursuing a career in long-term care, nonprofit organizations, or medical practice settings. I am committed to improving access to care and enhancing the quality of patient outcomes, with a focus on delivering compassionate, patient-centered, and well-coordinated services. I’m driven to make a meaningful and lasting impact by helping reduce barriers to care, supporting interdisciplinary collaboration, and contributing to efficient, high-quality healthcare delivery. Through my coursework, hands-on experience, and internship, I have developed a strong foundation in strategic planning, quality improvement, data analysis, and healthcare finance.

I am especially interested in opportunities where I can assess healthcare systems, support operational enhancements, and contribute to initiatives that improve both patient experience and organizational effectiveness. I am deeply committed to advocating for individuals who may lack the resources or voice to advocate for themselves, and to advancing equitable access to high-quality care regardless of social or economic circumstances. As I begin my professional journey, I am eager to continue developing my skills, expanding my knowledge, and making a meaningful impact in the healthcare field.

Why Health Services Management?

I chose to pursue Health Services Management to gain a deeper understanding of the operational, business, and leadership aspects of healthcare. My academic journey began on a pre-dental hygiene track, where I gained hands-on experience as a Dental Scheduler and later as a Dental Assistant at Lakewood Family Dental, supporting both clinical care and front desk operations. This experience provided a well-rounded perspective of healthcare delivery and sparked my interest in the administrative and operational side of the field.

Additionally, my work in long-term care further reinforced how management decisions directly impact staffing, workflow efficiency, and overall quality of care. Motivated to take on a leadership-focused path, I transitioned into the Health Services Management program, where I developed strong skills in healthcare operations, leadership, and strategic thinking. This major allows me to combine my clinical and administrative experience to become an effective leader who understands both employees and residents and can contribute to meaningful improvements in healthcare organizations.
